WHERE THERE IS NO PAIN

Psalm 125:3

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest
On the land allotted to the righteous,
Lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity

Everybody in here has got some fight doing. I know you dress cool. You look good. You come to church. You got a degree, a good job, a house, a choice car, and you look fit. But under all that, you are in a fight. You got a battle going on inside of your life. And like many other people, you believe it is God that puts the battle in your life to stop you from thinking more highly of yourself than you are, to humble you.

Or you think God gave you a kick in the back to strengthen you so you can face the challenges of life like a soldier. And many think God hands them over to the angel of pain so they can behave and not sin. They say afflictions keep them sober and holy.

If that is your line of belief, it’s OK. I know life is a fight. To be free, you got to fight. To be whole, to hold your house together, to raise your children, to finish school, to keep your properties, you got to fight.

Not to lose your mind, not to give up, not to walk away from your marriage, you got to fight. It doesn’t matter who you are. You can be rich, or beautiful, or educated, or intellectual, you got to fight to hold yourself together. You go to church so you can fight your fight. You pray so you can fight the fight. You serve God so He can fight in your fight.

Apostle Paul had to fight too. He had some physical infirmities he struggled with. He cried to God three times to take the pain away, yet the fight did not stop. And he said it was for God to keep him humbled. If you think this way; if you believe God is trying to balance your assets with liabilities to keep you away from sin, to make you strong, or to bless you, it’s all good. I commend your faith. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9.

But can we do without pain? I am asking. If God removes the pain of men, would there be very much less sin? Shall we still be strong to do great exploits? Or shall men still be blessed? I believe, with God, men would do better where there is no pain. I believe you can still be holy without your lips busted. You can still be humble without being humiliated. You can still be strong with no rod on your back. You can still win without being stripped of your dignity. Luke 1:37; Proverbs 26:3.

When God laid out the plan for your life, He had no mind that you have to be in pain to attain. His plan is to bless you without sorrow. He is El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough. Proverbs 10:22.

When Jesus came into this world, He was going about blessing people. And many He had to first deliver from their afflictions. If He wanted them to be in pain to get blessed He could have blessed them without having to relieve them of pain. In fact, there was no one Jesus met in pain and left still in pain. That’s the God we serve. Acts 10:38.

Yes! Pain can help to humble you. It can cause you to pay more attention to the things of heaven. But you can’t settle for pain. Many enjoy being kept in pain. You can get so used to pain that you would not go to church if you have no pain. You can be too busy nursing the pain you thought God gave you, you miss His love. And you have no confidence to ask God to bless you. Sometimes you get blessed, you don’t even know it. You don’t enjoy it, because you use too much energy trying to get blessed.

But it is not the will of God at any time that you must suffer for Him to get your attention, or for you to be holy, or to be blessed. Our God is not a God of pain, but comfort. The Scripture says it is your Father’s good pleasure to bless you without sorrow. He wants to stop your affliction, so you don’t get so desperate that you do stupid things to get over. Psalm 125:3.

You might say but God allowed the Children of Israel to run into trouble so they could look to Him. Not really. They used to run into trouble because they turned away from God. And we know that the rod is for the back of a fool. Besides, that was the era of the law. And they could not meet the requirements of the law. No one can. But later by Grace, God brings us all to Himself. Romans 9:31; Ephesians 2:8-9.

You might say where there is grace, there could be more sin. The truth is anyone that got grace and does not value it enough to love the Lord and be good, if you give him the law, he won’t obey. Romans 6:1; Isaiah 26:10.

When God wanted the Children of Israel to go into the wilderness to worship Him, He first delivered them from the grip of slavery in Egypt. God did not spare any force to force Pharaoh to let His people go. They could have been praying from a slave mentality. They might have been asking God to bless them while in slavery, or to give them strength to become better slaves to serve Pharaoh more efficiently. But God wanted to bless them but not in slavery. Exodus 3:7-10; Luke 1:74-75.

You might be dealing with God with a slave mentality. You think you would function better if you remain in your dysfunction. That’s dealing with God from a limited mind. God says you are to reign in life. You are blessed and you cannot be cursed.

You are lonely and desperate. Instead of asking God to find you the right partner, you want Him to help you cope with your loneliness. You are sick and weak. Instead of asking God to heal you and keep you in perfect health, you want Him to give you strength to bear the pain. You are lacking good things. Instead of asking God to open His heaven and supply your needs, you want Him to let you get by. God did not create you to just survive, or to just get by. He created you so you can live, and live large. John 10:10.

God says He will give you beauty for those ashes, gladness for your sadness, double for your troubles. He says His blessing will chase you down. You will be surrounded with favor. Yet you are asking Him to just keep you going in your affliction. Stop dealing with God from a slave position. You are His child. Ask Him for your dreams, and for great lovers. Trust Him to lift you high up and above, and to propel you into your purpose and glorious destiny.

If you go through life thinking that God has to keep you in pain for Him to be happy with you, you are missing the fullness of His goodness. If all the blessings you got are the ones you had to suffer for, you don’t get the function of His favor. But when you get to know that the God who called you and chose you; the God who set you apart and call you His child, is a God who wants to bless you with no sorrow, your eyes will open to see that God does not want you in pain.

And you will stop trying to just endure your poverty but to let your soul prosper so you can prosper. You don’t want to just manage your addiction, but to be free from addiction. You don’t want to just pay your bills, but to be totally out of debt, so you can be a blessing to others. You won’t just see your children managing to stay in school, but to excel and be a blessing to their generations. You will not only avoid sin. You will embrace His grace, and be empowered to stay above the temptations to sin. 3 John 3.

Look at Jabez. His name meant sorrow, pain, discomfort. But this man believed that God could not have wanted him to be in pain. He ignored what people say that pain is for humility or strength. So he prayed and asked, “Bless me, Lord. Enlarge my territory.” He said, “Let me see more of your abundance. Let me go far and beyond.” He even asked to be kept from evil. He knew to be kept from evil is better than to be healed from wounds. Every time you are injured, there is a scar to show. It is better to keep the devil in its place than to struggle with him in your place. And Jabez knew pain and sorrow do not determine your destiny, but the favor of God. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.

It might look impossible to you that God can bless you without you having to be in pain. But God is more powerful than you think. He is more merciful than you ever knew. He is your God. He sends His only Son to take your pain upon Himself, so you can be open for His limitless blessings. The faith energy you use to believe God can bless you while you are in pain, if only you will use the same faith energy to believe what Jesus has finished. You will experience His favor in an incredible way. Colossians 1:13-14.

If you really mean to be holy and stay clean; if you want to reach your highest potential, and you want God to help you attain; if you really want to get big in life, and go very high up, you got to relate with God like Jabez did. You got to drop that slave mentality that suffering gets you closer to God, and come to the knowledge that God can bless you even more, in the absence of pain. Psalm 16:11.

I am not saying you will not have conflicts in your life. You will. But there is no conflict that your God’s power cannot deliver you from. He says, “When you run into trouble, and you are caught between hard places, humble yourself before me, and call to Me. And I will answer you and heal you.” Psalm 50:15; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.

Friend, you need no labor to get the Lord’s favor. If you have to suffer, you can never suffer enough to qualify you for His goodness. It never can add up. It is the suffering of Christ that qualifies you for His blessing with no sorrow. Plus the Lord promised to put His Spirit in His children, so we can walk in His ways free of afflictions. And if you will believe Jesus and receive Him, you will receive His Spirit and become His child. Isaiah 53:3-6; Hebrews 10:14-18; Ezekiel 36:24-30; John 1:12.

Now, imagine you can love God and obey Him, would you still have to get your back whipped before you live the abundant life? Imagine you can worship the Lord in truth and in spirit, would you still have to be beaten up before you walk in holiness? Imagine you can commit unto the Lord your time, your energy, and your substance, would any devourer still destroy the fruits of your sweat? Imagine you would choose to humble yourself before the Lord, would you still need any force to force your face to face the ground? Matthew 22:37-40; John 14:15; Malachi 3:8-10; 1 Chronicles 7:13-14; 1 Peter 5:6.

If only you will delight yourself in the Lord, He would grant the desires of your heart. And like the Children of Israel, He will break every yoke on your neck by the reason of His anointing. Like Jabez He will hear your prayer and bless you, and increase you, and anoint you, and keep you safe, and make you a joy to the world. Psalm 37:4; Isaiah 10:27; 2 Chronicles 4:9-10.

And He will release His resources into your life, and surround you with His favor. And you are going to accomplish your dreams. You will rise higher than you ever think possible. And you will become all that God created you to be. And all that with no sorrow or pain.

Hallelujah

LET'S PRAY:

Humble yourself before the Lord and pray:

CONFESS:

Father, bless me like never before
Multiply Your increase toward me
Let me see more of your abundance
Let me go far and beyond

Let Your anointing come upon me
To do great exploits with success

Keep me in the hollow of your hand
Away from any evil

Release your Joy into my heart
Let me be a Joy to the world

I PRAY FOR YOU:

The Lord will turn His face to you
And you will not labor
To find His favor

So shall it be
And it is so
In the powerful name of Jesus

Thank You, Father Lord

AMEN.
